Ch2 18
She’s been dreaming of him since she was ten. She’s got posters that she has… uh… looked at… for hours of her adolescent life. He is standing right in front of her, yet she does not see him for who he is.
I guess this is what happens when you’ve built someone up in your head and meet them getting drunk at a bar without a shirt.
Speaking of meeting someone!
If any of you have another story you’d like Hasera and Lark to review – please add it to the comments below. We’ll put it in our queue and have the two idjits take a look-see. Thursday, we should be reviewing a new comic named Careful Going. Who knows what will be next?! (Possibly something about cyborgs?).
Not the sharpest sword on the rack, is she?
“The more you ask me to sober up, the more I drink. You’ll just have to follow me around until you figure out where the Lark is…”
Surprising, though… she’s been lusting after him long enough she really SHOULD recognise him… unless the portraits are just that off.
The ‘portraits’ have long, lustrous, flowing hair. No body hair to speak of and don’t have him talking. Not to mention the whole ‘opening with a pick-up line’. The Lark is supposed to be chivalrous and excuse himself, and then he would offer to buy the woman a drink, and then they would talk all night and then they would spend the morning watching the sunrise together, at which point, he would make a woman of her, much to her desire!
It’s mainly the hair, though.
Compared to the fantasy sequence at the start (which appears to have been censored?) – yeah, it’s mostly the hair. Looks like about as much body hair, but the long, lustrous flowing hair is clearly gone, and that can make a big difference when it’s someone you don’t actually know. (And even when you do, but at that stage you’re relying more on subconscious recognition of facial features.)
Wonder if there’s a story behind the haircut, or whether it’s just that the portraits were glamourised all along…
Re: The luxuriously long, sparkling hair. There’s a reason behind the cut. A terrible, terrible reason.
But, but, but… #facepalm#
Yes, yes, she would have recognized his butt, but she has only seen his front, so far.
Also,
~I see the future, it diverges… which road shall we go by? What will its rating be?~
She’s holding onto The Lark right now, isn’t she.
I facepalmed… although softer than that comic that other day made me… got a headache that time. Lack of headaches is good.
I are confused, how does she not know what he looks like?
In her books, he is described as ‘having long, golden locks of hair, a charming, plentiful smile, is chivalrous without compare and that’s not to mention, his amazing guile.’
Do recall, some fans are incapable of recognizing well known movie stars when they’re in plain clothes.
She probably pictured him taller. Or didn’t think he’d sully himself with ale. I mean, he is the Lark. He should be saving and orphanage right now, right?
Boy is her face going to be red! Way to stand up to the lout… 😛
Interesting, he looks younger than I thought he would be.
When you going to upload uncensored version,
Otherwise this is just false advertisement isn’t it? And down vote .
Originally the comic was NSFW for nudity but it was never intended to be a porn comic. It was changed to a sfw comic last week after some thoughts on the direction of the story and issues with marketing it. The original post on reddit was when it was still NSFW. If you want something like that to read I’d suggest some of the comics near the bottom of friends with benefits that are marked 18+
One excellent NSFW comic is The Rock Cocks. Not only does it have plenty of sex, nudity (in lieu of drugs) and Rock & Roll; it also has a coherent storyline and great art and writing. (You might consider reviewing it as well!)
Review EGS (El Goonish Shive). I love that comic and read it regularly. I would be interesting to see what you guys have to say about it. Starts off with crappy art. Gets MUCH better as the story progressed year after year.
Rereading, and remembered the change from “tabard” to “surcoat” in later chapters. Thought you might need a reminder about this page!
Much appreciated!
