Ch3 11
I’m sure nothing bad will come of this. He will deliver the letter and go on with his life (With or without the inevitably certain death of the Guardian following him) as if nothing had happened.
I wonder how good a Guardian’s life insurance policy is? Probably enough for a burlap sack and a shovel, knowing The Order.
Y’know, it strikes me that if they’re asking a Champion to do mail delivery, there’s a good chance they’re EXPECTING someone to try to intercept said mail.
Clearly, though, they’re just being overly paranoid and there isn’t actually anyone interested in stealing the simple thank-you note they’re sending to their grandmother.
Ha, I bet it’s a court summons.
That big a funeral? I would have expected a Hefty bag and a note on when the next municipal trash pickup was.
Read the fine print! They have to deliver mail… as in, armor. Ring mail, chain mail, scale mail, plate mail. Something metal, massive, and most likely magical (and menacing).
Technically speaking, the term ‘mail’ is specific to chain. Still, a big wagon full of mail suits could be awkward to protect and a hot item for bandits and enemy agents.
oh hass. don’t you know anything about adventurers and adventures? there’s never an easy job, just the next hook for the next grand journey!
Nonsense. It’s a simple job. If only the person had requested someone like QuestEx to deliver the mail, it would have been done by some up-and-coming adventurer, rather than The Lark… One has to wonder why someone would pay so handsomely for such a simplistic job…
Aww man, a delivery quest, they are the worst. Well maybe second worst, fetch quests can be worse.
