Ch3 26
I gotta say, that’s some pretty on-the-nose planning. I mean, honestly. What kind of logistics are required to plan that out? Maybe the Cloudhound has the ability to see through time with those derp-eyes?
Good news: Alli’s Surface is fixed! We are working on getting multiple pages up now! Maybe not this week, but we’ll see how well things go! Stay tuned!
Insurance – or liability – fraud it is!
Perhaps that will qualify this particular Seraph as a “monster” that must be destroyed.
So, Jim, did you verify that it was a Surface Pro?
And on another topic, I do see how this property-owner’s dog could be an expensive pet (rarity alone!).
I just now noticed that the Seraph only made one bag of rounds disappear when talking about collateral damage to her estate.
(A) Implies rounds are rather valuable things!
(B) Another whole bag just to clean some clothes????
Seraph’s clothes are generally outlandish. Their entire culture is based around flash, flair and bedazzlement. To see a Seraph (Outside of the Order, of course) wear clothing that would not cost what someone would generally pay for a house would be unheard of.
I thought the wurm was bad, but a yap-dog with wings? Now I’m really terrified.
“I was counting on it.”??
Now we don’t know the local legal system, but in most systems, if you know X will happen if Y, and you encourage Y, you are not collecting damages for X. And a confession [boast actually] that you wanted X to happen will be even more deadly to your claim. Then lark would be the one who could make a claim for hiring him under false pretenses.
Now as usual, we don’t know the full contract. Lark may be under some guarantee limiting damage from his battles. He shouldn’t as the odds of damage is both high and obvious, but people make promises they know they can’t keep all the time.
I basically agree; if she was counting on a monster appearing, then she should *at*least* have taken steps to prevent “irrevokable emotional damage”. Failure to do so puts the fault for any such damage on her, not on the monster.
Yeah, I was going to post pretty much the same thing until I read your comment. Absolutely agree.
I love your comic! So much thought put into the world, beautiful art, good characters, it has everything!
That being said, I missed it updating more often, but I don’t want you guys over working Alli’s poor wrist!
Teach her to draw with her feet to give her hands a break π
P. S. When does the My Hero! : Realms of the Nine RPG book come out?
If you guys are interested in that, I’ll start putting my things together to make a RPG compendium for it.
Thank you! We’re working on getting back to two updates a week π
that cloud dog is hilarious
also kek @ emotional damages
Look how worried that poor little thing is! It obviously will require months of pampering just to get back to an acceptable state!
The seraph just admitted that she was fulling aware of the high risk of an abyssal worm attacking upon attempt at delivering the letter. By failing to disclose this detail when the contract was presented she forfeits any claims of collateral damage whatever form they take and is also subject to further fees and penalties at least, but not limited to, double what would normally be asked for when tasked with hunting an abyssal worm. A bill will be delivered to the estate of the party within 30 days with expected payment to be delivered within 30 days after delivery of bill. Failure to pay within stated time will cause further fees and penalties to be in addition to previous fees and penalties. Entire amount to be paid within 30 days after initial due date. This process is to be repeated until offending party (original quest giver) has paid entire amount assessed.
If only they had a witness… Or the second part that makes The Order begrudgingly pay-out the whole ordeal… which will be revealed in the next page.
