Ch7 18
For no possible reason that can be thought of right now, Magnus has completely decided to drop the subject of Hasera’s biological mother. It probably has to do with him not wanting to lose the bet.
Yes. That’s it.
We’re coming up to the close on this chapter. Only a few pages left until the cover scene comes into play.
Now for the real question: How many teeth do you think Magnus will have left by the end of the chapter?
Oh, god. She’s the mother, isn’t she?
That’s ridiculous…isn’t it? 🤔
In this story? Nothing is ridiculous other than the writer.
No, no, that would make Hasera and Jefferson half-siblings at least. It would also destroy Melinda’s reputation and her moral authority. Besides, Magnus would never let her hear the end of it. 😜
I have more than a sneaking suspicion she knows who the mother is, and has known since before the birth.
This would not surprise me in the least, nor would the ultimate reveal, whatever it shall be.
Personally, I think it’s more likely she’s holding him back from crossing a line, and she doesn’t know any more than they do.
Teeth? Why would he lose teeth? Castration doesn’t lose you any teeth. I mean, it’s entirely possible that being punted through at least one wall while being actively castrated by ice could lose you some teeth, but I doubt it’s overly likely here. More likely that the wall would crack his skull, ribs or, most likely, pelvis.
He might lose some teeth if he hits the wall at the right angle. Or the floor. Or the rocks outside. Are there rocks outside? Whatever takes the place of the rocks if there aren’t rocks. Maybe the author’s comment is a hint that the fortress is actually in the Plane of Overly Enthusiastic Dentists, and after he gets punted out of his abode’s protections he’s going to lose ALL of them.
All of them because she will introduce his balls to his stomach.
Non-“Frozen” use of “let it go” approved. 😎
Yes. It was less of a “self-empowering” song about how to release your inhibitions and more of a direct order from Melinda because at least she has some small sense of social graces, unlike Magnus.
Magnus please remember that “Show her to her room” is NOT a euphemism
I thought Jefferson is showing her to the guest room. :-/
Ship ship ship…
Ship it! Ship it good! 😍
Then explain how Maggie ended up in there, wearing only his boxers
Because Magnus is a pervert who does not think the word “No” applies to him, regardless of how much he’s insulted in the process of being informed it, or how much danger it theoretically (or knowingly) puts his crotch in.
Is there a significance to the shading of her eyes in Panel 5? I don’t recognize the reference.
It’s an old anime trope of the characters eyes being blacked out to show anger
Magnus may lose teeth, and often deservedly so.
But like a shark, they just keep growing back.
I’m not sure about black eyes to show anger. Dark clouds and lightning is more anger. I was thinking of Dark Eyes of Evil https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlackEyesOfEvil in which it show the presence of mysterious or evil forces that might be at risk of removing body parts from Magnus, perhaps beyond the previous threats of exploding spherical objects.
It’s an Anime Trope, and thus Eastern, and you’re linking a Western Trope. The correct link is Death Glare (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeathGlare), but it could also be considered a mix of Hidden Eyes (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HiddenEyes), Face Framed in Shadow (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FaceFramedInShadow) and Kubrick Stare (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KubrickStare).
Basically, it’s a way to give any character, regardless of their normal appearance, a way to give implied-death-stares. The character tilts their head like a Kubrick Stare, which causes their forehead to give them Face Framed In Shadow over their eyes, which in turn gives them Hidden Eyes that they’re implied to be glaring out from.
